She suffers from schizophrenia. If it weren't for her husband's infidelity, everything would probably be different... But the infidelity happened, and now she has to learn to live with her illness. She must learn to live as a sick person among healthy people. Her attempts to understand herself and the world around her lead her to realize that the world is no less sick than she is, and that every person deserves love and compassion.
