Magda is raising her one-year-old daughter, Hania, with the help of her roommate, Daniel. When a disagreement arises between the friends, Magda returns to her hometown, where her parents try to set her up with her high school sweetheart, Andrzej. Despite their differences, there's still a connection between the young people, but they now represent completely different lifestyles. Magda faces a choice: to give Andrzej a chance and provide stability for Hania, or to take the more challenging path and teach her daughter the importance of honesty with oneself.
